Our Company

About The Kit Group

The Kit Group is South Africa’s leading uniform solutions & management specialist focusing in all types of uniforms and safety wear.

In June 1999, Security Kit and Alexandra Workwear amalgamated to establish The Kit Group. Both companies collectively had 42 years experience in the workwear and security wear industries.

The Kit Group offers complete uniform solutions that allow its customers to remain focused on their core business. The uniform solutions function offered by The Kit Group includes the conception and design, the manufacture and supply of uniforms and accessories to all sectors including industrial, mining, security, medical, corporate, leisure and hospitality, traffic, fire and emergency services.

A unique service the Kit Group offers its clients is ’offsite’ storage. Our bulk warehousing facility enables clients with branded garments to store their supplies at our warehouse thus ensuring high levels of service delivery to our customers at all times. The goods are managed on behalf of the clients through our ’Offsite Vendor Management System’ software.

For those clients that have high uniform and PPE usages and demand high levels of service and maintenance, we also have a solution called the ’Onsite Vendor Management System’ which is in effect a warehouse or storage facility at the client’s own premises. Stock is issued onsite using the IT software and is replenished from our central warehouse once minimum stock levels are reached.

The Kit Group head office is based New Doornfontein, Johannesburg and there are also branches in Pretoria, Polokwane, Rustenburg, Nelspruit, Swaziland, Mozambique, Angola, Namibia and agencies in Port Elizabeth and Kimberley and a franchise in Richards Bay.

The Kit Group also has a growing export market to Africa.

In 2004, 2005 and 2006 The Kit Group was nominated as a Top National Company in terms of job creation and economic growth by Impumelelo and The Department of Trade & Industry. In 2006, the Department of Trade and Industry, in conjunction with Impumelelo, nominated The Kit Group as a Top Empowerment Company in the Clothing and Footwear sector.

The Kit Group also received an Achievement Award from the Ekurhuleni Business Initiative for its contribution towards local economic growth.
